History

The Miniboz is a designer dog crossbred between the Boston terrier and the Miniature schnauzer. Originated in The U.S.A during the early 2000’s., it is a new breed. They are a small to medium-sized dogs weighing not more than 25 pounds. Its ears flip over with bulging eyes and their coat can be either short and smooth, or long and harsh.

Temperament & Personality

The Minibos are always eager to please their owner. They are smart and constantly stays alert and makes the owner aware of strangers. The Boston-Schnauzer mix barks very little and are friendly as well as sociable and making them a great family dog. They make an excellent pet for the children too.

The dog has a strong predator instinct and chases animals like rodents, birds, insects, cats, etc. They are quite adaptable creatures so they can adapt to any household.

Exercise

The Minibos can become ill-tempered if they don’t get enough exercise on a daily basis. They need 45-50 minutes of exercise to keep themselves healthy. The owner should also provide it with a chew toy when they are indoors. This Boston-Schnauzer mix also enjoys play sessions with other dogs.

Grooming

Brushing its coat twice a week will keep its coat matt free. They have a grandpa kind of a beard, so they need a frequent wash with soap in that area. Trimming the nails and brushing the teeth once a week is a must. This dog sheds minimal and can be a good choice for anyone who has allergies.

Health Problems

The Minibos are prone to diseases like Cataract, Progressive retinal atrophy, Entropion, Megaesophagus, etc. Occasional tests are Blood analysis, Optical examination, Urine tests, Dental and oral examination, etc. Urinary stones are very common in them so frequent diagnosis is a must.

Training

To replace its chasing behavior, obedience training and leash training is a must for this breed. The dog also tends to hide and stay in its crate for an extended period so the owner should implement crate training for them.

Feeding

An adult Mininboz does not need not more than one and a half cup of dry foods a day. Giving the dog a well-balanced diet will keep it healthy throughout the year.
